Party Wall Surveying
GHP Consultancy offers a comprehensive party wall surveying service, throughout England & Wales, which encompasses service delivery in full compliance with the Party Wall Act 1996.
A Party Wall by definition is a wall, which stands on the land of two owners or is a wall built between two buildings, which are owned by different parties.
Legislation is now in place for building owners and adjoining owners (neighbours) to observe and discharge certain responsibilities when construction takes place on or near a party or boundary wall. The extent of the legislation is wide-ranging and complex and requires expert advice to deal with issues, which arise between interested parties. As an owner or adjoining owner you cannot act on your own behalf with respect to the boundary/party wall issues; you must appoint an third party, preferably a Chartered Surveyor/Architect, with relevant Party Wall experience.
GHP Consultancy can fulfil any role as defined within the Act namely as the agreed surveyor, the adjoining owner’s surveyor or the third surveyor, giving impartial & independent advice throughout. In relation to the Act, the consultant is not appointed on standard working relationship terms, as this is a fully independent role, and not a Client-Consultant relationship.
